Disco Party and Ice Cream

After weeks of earning "compliments," the class finally completed this phrase: 

D I S C O  P A R T Y  a n d  I C E  C R E A M 

They were really thrilled to dance for about 20 minutes and enjoy some delicious ice cream. 

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you parents who generously contributed ice cream today. It was a sweet reward that went a long way. (We have left over ice cream, but I'd like to store it in the teacher's lounge freezer, so we can use it when children pass all of their times tables.) 

Enjoy these fun memories! They were really funny to watch. :)

Bring-Your-Own-Device-Day!

The class has been working hard to earn "compliments" as part of our class reward system. Finally, today, they have reached their goal! 

The reward is to bring their own device (ipad, ipod, iphone...but please, no laptops) to school for one day, which I will allow for limited periods during the day for both fun and research. 

Please know that if your child does bring his/her device to school, it is his/her own responsibility to take care of it. I will happily offer my locked desk drawer for safety, if preferred. 

We will also enjoy some cookies, so if you are in the baking mood tonight, please feel free to send some in. (I will also do some baking, hopefully.) 

We are looking forward to a fun day of devices and cookies, as well are our regular lessons. :) Thanks for your support! 

Pizza, pizza!

As I'm sure many of you have heard, we will be enjoying a reward party tomorrow in 3LN. Each child will receive one slice of pizza as a supplement to his/her lunch. (Purchasing 2-3 slices for each child would, unfortunately, be too costly, so hopefully, this will still suffice as a satisfying reward.) The class seems very excited! 

Additionally, this is a reminder that the next Pizza Day is this Thursday, Jan. 30th. Forms should be going home either today or tomorrow, so please kindly return those ASAP.
