We had a great time at The Green Planet today! Though we got off to a later start than expected, once we were there, it was nonstop excitement and learning. The students enjoyed hearing more about the different relationships that plants and animals have in the rainforest (positive, negative, and neutral), as well as trying to find hidden creatures that had excellent camouflage. The real highlight for most all of the children, however, was getting to see a REAL sloth in action...well, in slow action, anyway. (Actually, we were all surprised to see that it moved faster than we expected.)
This is the kind of place in Dubai that definitely merits a second visit, especially when one has more time to really take it all in and read and see all that is available. If you haven't yet been and you'll be around for a while this summer, this would be a fun and cool activity. I imagine you wouldn't face any crowds, either.
In the meantime, please enjoy these pictures from our visit today. As you will see, the students generally had a truly fantastic time!
PS. Thank you for responding so quickly to the last-minute field trip. The other Grade 3 teachers and I were commenting on how great you were to sign the permission slips and send in the money so quickly. Please know that we really appreciate your support!!
