Yearbook Submission Info.
As we prepare for the yearbook publication, I have been busy selecting the best class photos and memories and even feeling a bit nostalgic to see how much the class has changed since September. It's amazing how quickly the year has gone!
Tonight, as part of your child's homework, he/she should write about his/her future occupational ambitions. Does your sweetie want to be a scientist? A doctor? A pilot? An explorer? There are so many possibilities!
Please take a look at this sheet, which was distributed in class, as well as this link, which includes a wide range of jobs and write a few quality sentences.
Thanks for your support!

Save the date for The Movie Night on Thursday May 1st, I promise you a very nice family movie under the stars of DAA with popcorn and slushy drink. It is a nice opportunity to be together one more time, sharing and enjoying our time. More details will follow, stay informed!!! Looking forward to seeing all of you! If you are interested in helping on the day , Please send an email to stayintouchwithdaaes@gmail.com.
Our Famous Pizza Day will take place on Thursday 1st of May .
DAAPA
In other news, here is the link if you'd like to read/listen to the story we heard in class today called Thank you, Mr. Falker. We learned that social issues are sometimes the driving force in a story.
In science, we viewed this movie all about the water cycle. It had some sophisticated, higher-level language included, so your child may benefit by watching it again. The students took notes and then worked together in small groups to create their own quiz, which we will review together on Wednesday.
It was another great, productive day of learning. Enjoy the resources! :)

Welcome back!
It's been a terrific week back to school after our spring holidays. The children shared their adventures and experiences on Monday during our Mystery Holiday Game and it sounds like you each had a truly fantastic holiday, even those who stayed in Dubai! I'm so glad that they were so enjoyable.
My sister, Julie, and I had an exceptional time in Italy! We met in Milan on Friday morning, although we accidentally flew into two different airports! We then met at the train station and traveled to Cinque Terre, a stunning part of Italy, which has even become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After four days of exploration along the five coastal towns, we took a train back through Milan, then to Venice, where we spent our remaining four days (including side-trips to the islands of Murano and Burano).
Needless to say, the whole trip was an incredible journey of learning, laughing, eating, boating, walking, sleeping and enjoying all the beauty, culture and history that Italy has to offer! I will be sharing some more pictures soon. :)
Please avail yourself of some news from the week here, so you know what we've covered this week. Kindly take a look as the work has included some very high-level thinking (stereotyping, poetry, difficult math). We will continue these topics next week, as well.
I hope you each have a wonderful, spring-but-feels-like-summer weekend! :)

News to Note...
I want to sincerely thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to come to school for Parent Teacher Conferences last week. I always enjoy sitting down together to share your sweetie's progress, success and strategies for improvement. It's a great time to connect.Your support is so very appreciated!
The students are very excited about our class debates with Ms. Connor's class tomorrow and Wednesday. We did some practicing today and I think we may even have a few future lawyers on our hands as they loved to yell out, "I object!" I had to kindly remind them that this is not a court case. :) (Perhaps my everyday life application was taken a bit too far.) In any case, this is a fun game if your darling wants to get some more practice. After spring break, we will be moving into writing folktales, so you can prepare for that by reading these online.

If you are able to make any home-baked treats, that would be especially appreciated as everyone loves such special treats!
Also, we will be having a small, spring party on Wednesday. It will be very simple, mid-morning (10:30) and a time to celebrate our upcoming break. Stephanie Nooren has graciously agreed to send in something tasty and we'll play a couple of fun, short games. I would like to limit it to students, so I hope you understand.
Lastly, I'd like to wish you each a very restful, happy and refreshing spring break. I hope it's a truly blessed time with your family and friends! I'll be meeting my sister in beautiful Italy (Cinque Terre and Venice), so we are both just counting down the days!!
I hope you will enjoy every moment, just as we will. :) See you on April 21st!

Lights, Camera, Action!
The work the students did on their Living Biographies project was really terrific, overall. The presentations were very interesting, especially those who dressed in full character! We met Harriet Tubman, Albert Einstein, George Washington, Ghandi, Mother Teresa and Mohamed Ali, just to name a few.
I hope you'll enjoy these pictures, as well as this fun related link.
Job well done!
